Why this matters — The problem & the rural challenge
Georgia is facing a serious mental health crisis. Rural communities like Thomaston have limited access to psychiatric providers and substance-use treatment — forcing many families into emergency care or legal systems instead of receiving treatment.
1.4M+ Georgians experience mental illness (~18% of population)
1.50% rise in mental health issues (2022 → 2023)
2 in 5 children struggle to access needed treatment
20%+ adults with anxiety/depression report unmet need for counseling
Higher risk of incarceration for people with serious mental illness
The Rural Challenge — Thomaston
Thomaston exemplifies limited provider availability, long travel distances, and scarce local treatment options. Many residents currently face no realistic route to timely, specialty psychiatric care.
Our Solution — CSA Psychiatric Healing Center LLC
A local, multidisciplinary psychiatric center providing evidence-based care through:
Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners — diagnosis & medication management
Registered Nurses (RNs) — clinical support & continuity
Licensed Therapists & Counselors — individual & group therapy
Together we will reduce hospitalizations, shorten crisis episodes, and reconnect people to family and community supports. This will be the only reachable mental health program for many in the region.
